Orthodontics
How Orthodontics Work
The goal of orthodontic treatment is the same for children, teenagers, and adults – to straighten teeth so they not only look better, but also work better.
Our team takes the time to discuss your treatment plan with you in great detail, and allow you to provide input on what you hope to achieve with orthodontic care.
Orthodontics are designed to correct the position of your teeth and jaw, effectively combating tooth wear as well as joint problems.
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces, made of metal or ceramic, have been used for decades to straighten teeth. In recent years, advances in orthodontic treatment have led to braces that are discreet, more comfortable and easier to take care of.
How Braces Straighten Teeth
Braces apply constant pressure to teeth over a period of time, slowly moving them into their new, corrected positions.
As pressure is applied and the teeth gradually move, the bone changes shape to accommodate the new positions of the teeth.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
With Invisalign clear aligners, your smile is straightened using a series of custom, clear aligners.
Invisalign aligners are low-profile, as they are transparent and barely visible. This is convenient for when you prefer that no one knows you are straightening your teeth!
Similar in appearance to custom whitening trays, they are easy to insert. The best part is, you can remove them to eat, drink, brush and floss!
